How a custom profile works
Five steps. You approve the drawing and a sample before the full order is run.

Send a drawing, sample or photo
A dimensioned section drawing is ideal. A short sample piece, or a straight-on photo of the end profile against a ruler, also works.
- 02
We confirm the section
The profile is drawn at full scale so every dimension is confirmed rather than estimated. You approve the drawing before anything is run.
- 03
Tooling, or a match from our library
We check the drawing against profiles we already run. If it exists, there is no tooling lead time. If not, we set up tooling for your profile and keep it on file.
- 04
Sample and approval
We run a short sample in your chosen species and treatment level so you can confirm profile and color before the full order.
- 05
Full run, prefinished and shipped
The approved profile is run to your quantities, prefinished if specified, and shipped to projects across the Southeast.
When a custom profile makes sense
- Cladding or siding profiles specific to an architect's design
- Matching an existing exterior profile on an addition or renovation
- Replacing weathered trim or siding in kind with a more stable material
- Custom paneling reveals and ceiling profiles
- Decking and stair tread edge details
- Historic profiles that need to perform outdoors
Why we can run it in-house
Thermal modification, moulding and prefinishing all happen in our North Carolina facility. Our profile library is a starting point, not a limit: any section you can draw can be tooled and run.
Because the wood is modified before it is profiled, custom details hold their shape outdoors the same way our standard cladding and trim do.
Tooling stays on file, so repeat orders and later phases of a project match the first run exactly. We ship custom profiles to projects across the Southeast.
