Emberline Wood is a joint venture with Blandy Hardwoods. It brings together generations of hardwood manufacturing expertise and a deep understanding of how architects and builders use wood.
We source 100% locally harvested lumber, then dry, thermally modify, mill and prefinish it in one North Carolina facility. Our specialists work directly with architects, builders and homeowners to specify it well.
The result is a natural wood product for exterior and interior work where appearance matters, but performance, service life and reliability cannot be compromised.

From local forest to finished board
Local Lumber
Every board starts as 100% locally harvested hardwood or Southern Yellow Pine, selected for grain and structure.
Kiln Drying
Lumber is dried to a controlled moisture content so it enters modification stable and consistent.
Thermal Modification
Heat and steam only, from 160°C to 215°C. The cell structure changes permanently, so the wood takes on less moisture and swells less.
Mill & Finish
Modified stock is run to cladding, siding, decking, trim and paneling profiles and pre-finished to order.
Local wood, serving the Southeast
Our Ash, Oak, Poplar and Southern Yellow Pine come from forests close to home. Our Southern Yellow Pine comes from old-growth timber, with tighter grain and higher natural strength than fast-grown pine.
Every species is available in cladding, decking, trim and paneling profiles, with performance data ready for your specifications.
