What Is Emberline Wood

Natural wood, engineered to perform

A controlled, high-temperature, heat-only process permanently changes the wood's cell structure. It absorbs less moisture, swells less and performs more consistently across changing climates, while keeping the strength and workability of each species.

The same process creates a uniform color that runs through the whole board, with no stains, chemicals or surface treatments. You get a stable, predictable material with a longer service life and less upkeep than untreated lumber.

The Process

Heat, Steam, Time. Nothing Else.

Controlled, heat-only modification permanently changes the wood's cell structure, so it takes on less moisture, swells less and resists decay while keeping its strength and workability.

01

Local Lumber

Every board starts as 100% locally harvested hardwood or Southern Yellow Pine, selected for grain and structure.

02

Kiln Drying

Lumber is dried to a controlled moisture content so it enters modification stable and consistent.

03

Thermal Modification

Heat and steam only, from 160°C to 215°C. The cell structure changes permanently, so the wood takes on less moisture and swells less.

04

Mill & Finish

Modified stock is run to cladding, siding, decking, trim and paneling profiles and pre-finished to order.
